Getting Rid of Facebook Chat Sidebar

Facebook: New Sidebar Chat

So most of you Facebook users would've noticed the new chat sidebar. Most of you also hate it since it doesn't allow you to scroll through your list of friends online as yet.

Hopefully Facebook will update it soon with a way for users to scroll through it properly inside Facebook.

If you are not a fan of it, and would like to get rid of it temporarily, you can actually hide it.

If you look next to the Options button on the bottom right, you can see the option to "Hide Sidebar" button.

Once you hide the sidebar, your chat will appear on the left sidebar like the image below. Then, when you see someone you want to talk to, just click on one of their names.

Google+ Cheat Sheet

So I came across a little cheat sheet for those of you who would like to use Google+ but have no idea how some of the functions would work.

The cheat sheet was created by Simon Laustsen who is still updating it more and more as well. On his page, he offers a lot of handy tips on using Google+ and ways you can get around issues such as using different languages and changing the style of Google+.

Here is an image of the cheat sheet:

If you don't understand English, not a problem! It has already been translated into many different languages too.

Integrate Facebook Comments into WordPress!

facebook-logo[1]

After spending hours last night looking for a plugin that would work well with WordPress comments, I finally found one that does it all!

It integrates WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Google, OpenID, Yahoo and Disqus all into one, and allows those users to make comments on your WordPress blog! The great thing about it, is that it requires minimal effort for the installation!

If you were to scroll down, you would see the new comments section where you are able to connect your accounts with WordPress. Here's a screenshot if you're too lazy:

As you can see, users who are not logged in are able to choose from one of the items above. Basically the software is called

Why you should NOT use WEP!

After taking an Ethical Hacking course, I was amazed (but not surprised) to see the amount of flaws most average users face on a daily basis when it comes to computers.

One of the main ones that I noticed was the most easiest way to hack someones wireless network, if they are using Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encrypted passwords. The reason why these passwords are the easiest to crack, is due to the fact that it can only use alphanumeric characters in the password. So it makes cracking programs such as Aircrack-ng easily find out the wireless networks password within 10-20 minutes - even less if you're lucky. Here is a brief video on someone hacking a WEP encrypted wireless network:

Show Password Hidden Behind Asterisks/Stars

I know this is not really that much of a useful tool, however if there is ever an issue where you have saved a password on your browser but for the life of you can't remember it (but would like to see what it is), all you would have to do is paste a JavaScript onto your address bar on your browser. Then a pop up will show you your password like so:

So all you would need to do is type in the following JavaScript:

Download Google+ App

So most people I know don't live in the United States and therefore don't really have access to download the Google+ app, even though they're part of the program already.

Thus I decided to share out the APK file for you to download an install manually for those who are already part of the movement, but aren't able to download the app to their androids as their markets haven't allowed it yet.

Click on the link below to download the file:

Install Adobe Flash – Without Administrator Rights

It's been awhile since I actually wrote something on here, but now that I'm back into my I.T roots, I guess I might as well give everyone a few tips and tricks every now and then just to keep the site alive.

Well I've recently joined a new company and their software policy is quite a pain. So the first thing I was trying to figure out how to do was to install Adobe Flash player on my PC. For some reason, the admins decided due to the company's software licensing, they weren't going to let us install ANY software on our own - not even flash player.

So after doing a bit of research I've found out a simple method of installing the flash player plug-in. Just follow these steps and you should be up and running.
